What is a capsule sleeve?
A capsule sleeve is a made-to-size capsule that is slipped over the cap and bottle neck and shrunk with heat. It forms a continuous covering between cap and neck, and the cap surface can be printed as well.
How is it applied?
The process starts by measuring the cap and neck. The printed film is made into a capsule, slipped over the product and shrunk with heat, so the capsule follows the shape of the cap exactly.

Advantages

What is the difference between a capsule sleeve and a safety seal band?
Both are heat-shrink films. A safety seal band is usually applied as a narrow strip between cap and bottle neck; a capsule sleeve is a capsule-shaped covering that also closes over the top of the cap and allows printing on the cap surface.
Which packs are capsule sleeves suitable for?
They suit capped glass and PET bottles and jars. Cap diameter, neck height and cap shape determine the sizing; sharing the pack itself or its dimensions is enough.
Are clear or metallic options available?
Yes. We can work with clear, matt, metallic and coloured films; print and colour are chosen to match the brand design. We show the options together with a sample.
How is a capsule sleeve opened?
It is torn off easily thanks to a perforated or notched design, so the consumer can see that the product has not been opened before. The tear position and direction are decided together in the design.
What information is needed to order a capsule sleeve?
Cap diameter, neck height, approximate quantity and, if available, your design or logo are enough. If possible, share the pack itself; we check the fit with a sample and proof before mass production.
Is special machinery needed to apply a capsule sleeve?
After the capsule is slipped on, it has to be shrunk with heat; this can be done with a heat tunnel, a steam tunnel or a hand-held heater. We decide on the method that suits your line during the quotation.
