Jar labels
Printed labels made to the shape of the jar and resistant to moisture and oil, for products such as honey, pickles, jam and tahini.

Short answer
A jar label is an adhesive label stuck on the body of a glass or plastic jar that carries the product name, ingredients, nutrition values and brand information. For moist and oily products a water- and oil-resistant PP or specially coated label is chosen; its size is set by the circumference and height of the jar.
What is a jar label?
A jar label is an adhesive label applied to the body of the jar. It carries both the legal information (product name, ingredients, date, storage conditions) and the brand identity. Because it sits on the straight part of the jar, size, circumference and height calculation matter; separate labels for the lid top and side can also be prepared.
Choosing material by product
| Product | Recommended label | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Honey and jam | Coated paper or PP self-adhesive label | Surface resistant to moisture and sticky product stains |
| Pickles, paste and sauces | Water-resistant PP label | Damp and cold environment |
| Olive oil and oily products | Oil-resistant label or sleeve | Oil stains must not spoil the print |
| Tahini and molasses | PP label, wide information area | Dense product, oil and adhesive compatibility |
| Cosmetics and supplements | Clear label or sleeve | Visual aesthetics |
How is the label size determined?
The label circumference should be shorter than the jar circumference so the ends do not overlap. If you share the height of the straight surface and the circumference of the jar, we calculate the size. To seal the lid you can also consider a jar safety seal band alongside.
Legal information on the label
A food label contains elements such as product name, ingredients, net quantity, expiry date, storage conditions and producer details. The scope of mandatory content varies by product; we recommend that you or your adviser prepare the required information while we handle the print and layout. For more see our food industry page.

Is there anything else you would like to know? Write to our sales team or call us and we will get back to you.
What is a jar label?
A jar label is an adhesive label stuck on the body of a glass or plastic jar, carrying product information and brand identity.
Should a jar label be water-resistant?
Yes for moist products stored cold or kept in the fridge; for pickles, paste and sauces we recommend a water-resistant PP label.
Which label suits a honey jar?
Coated paper or PP self-adhesive labels are common for honey and jam. Choosing a surface resistant to sticky product keeps the look intact.
How is the label size calculated?
The circumference and height of the straight surface of the jar are the basis; the label circumference is left so the ends do not overlap. Share the measurements and we calculate it.
Do labels get stained on oily products like olive oil and tahini?
Staining is reduced when an oil-resistant surface is chosen. For oily products we recommend an oil-resistant label or sleeve.
Can I have a safety seal band made together with the jar label?
Yes. We can prepare the jar label and the cap safety seal band in the same project so colours and design match.
What information is printed on the label?
Product name, ingredients, net quantity, date, storage conditions, barcode and brand information can be printed. The scope of mandatory content varies by product; we recommend preparing it according to the relevant regulations.
Are small-quantity jar labels possible?
Yes, we have no minimum order requirement. We quote for small runs and new-product trials too.
